Dear PRISM and WinPRISM Users,
You are cordially invited to attend Spectrum 2010, our fourth annual users’ meeting. The previous three have been a time for learning, sharing, letting your concerns be known and looking at what lies ahead. A wide variety of sessions are planned. There are focus groups where you have an opportunity to compare notes with and learn from your peers as well as hands-on training sessions where you are introduced to important new features and can gain a deeper understanding of those you are already familiar with. At the PRISM Advisory Council meeting all users gather to hear how the PAC interacts with NBC and learn about the impact it’s had. All in all, the meeting provides a forum where you can interact with and get to know the people who write, test and support the program as well as meet representatives from some of the third parties we work with.
Dates: April 13 – April 15
Location: The Embassy Suites
Lincoln, Nebraska
Cost: $600

We have negotiated a group rate of $117 per night with Embassy Suites (excluding taxes and fees). This rate will be available until March 30, 2010, or until the group block is sold out. Please keep this in mind as you firm up your plans. If you reserve your room over the phone, be sure to mention “Nebraska Book Company’s Spectrum 2010 Meeting.” Breakfast and social hour are included in the room price.
There are a wide variety of educational sessions. You’ll learn where the software is headed during the road map sessions and provide input in focus groups and at the PAC meeting. Interested in one bookstore’s experience with introducing a rental program on campus? You won’t want to miss the session given by staff from the University of Alabama Supply Store. What about HEOA – is your bookstore ready? Learn what other stores have done and how CampusHub can assist you. You’ll want to study the schedule, look at sample session selections for a store manager, a textbook buyer, etc., then put together your personal agenda.
We understand budgets remain tight. Because we think you have much to gain by attending Spectrum, we want to make it as easy as possible on your pocketbook. The registration fee is the same as last year. You can use NBC Dollars to “pay” the registration fee. And you can utilize your rebate to cover lodging and airfare. If you are interested in using your rebate for travel and/or lodging, arrangements must be made and invoiced by NBC. Please contact me at spectrum@nebook.com, if interested. If you have any questions regarding usage of your NBC Rewards, contact Sue Stroud at 800-869-0366 Ext. 5544.
Many of you have found that attending a users’ meeting is an essential part of maintaining your investment in your bookstore’s inventory management system. We believe Spectrum offers tremendous value to your store. We hope you can join us. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
